Ingredients

What is in the spread?

In-N-Out spread is the sauce used in its standard burgers. The official ingredient listing identifies an oil base, cucumber and tomato ingredients, egg, vinegar, sugar, mustard and seasonings; egg is a listed allergen.

How is spread used on the menu?

Spread belongs to the standard Hamburger, Cheeseburger and Double-Double builds. Extra spread is part of an Animal Style burger preparation, and spread is also associated with loaded Animal Style Fries.

A sauce name is less useful than the ingredient and portion information. If you omit it or ask for it separately, make that request explicit.

Is spread dairy-free, egg-free or vegan?

The official listing identifies egg in spread. That prevents treating the standard sauce as egg-free or vegan. An absence of a named allergen in one component also does not establish that a complete sandwich is free of it.

Compare the official allergen chart summary with your entire order, including cheese, bun and any drink.

What happens if you replace spread?

The official nutrition page includes burger variants with mustard and ketchup instead of spread. For the standard Hamburger entry, that version lists 300 calories, compared with 360 calories for the standard with-onion serving using spread. These are published configurations, not a universal calorie value for one packet of sauce.

Choose the matching entry on the nutrition guide or the official source rather than subtracting a guessed amount.

How to request a different sauce amount

  1. Choose the base burger.
  2. Ask for no spread, extra spread or spread on the side.
  3. Specify a replacement condiment if you want one.
  4. Confirm allergy-related preparation with staff before ordering.
